We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to save the historic Jester Farmhouse, for local artists of all disciplines and skill levels to use as meeting, working, and gallery space. Jester Artspace, Inc. has partnered with the property owner, New Castle County, Del., to renovate the property. In turn, we will operate the house in a manner of direct benefit to the surrounding community. The Jester Farmhouse has been deemed to be of significant historic value to the people of New Castle County. It is one of the few remaining modest pre-Civil War farmsteads that were once common in Northern Delaware. The house sits amid 25.8 acres of original farmland at 2818 Grubb Road, which is among the oldest colonial-era trade routes in the mid-Atlantic U.S.
Please donate if you can. Your contributions are fully tax-deductible. Our donors receive original, limited-edition, artist-signed prints. Do something good for the arts in Brandywine Hundred and enjoy a piece of original art! If you would like us to stay in touch, you can also join our email list.
Two great friends of the Artspace at Rockwood on Sunday. Our plein air instructor, Charley Parker chats with our amazing sketch model Thom Moore. Not only did we get a chance to sketch Thom in his full regalia, but we got a wonderful performance and a full explanation of the symbolism behind each item in his uniform. ... See MoreSee Less

I am so proud of my brother, Alan Baseden, and others who worked with him including my father, Tod Baseden and SIL, Debra Baseden for saving this old farmhouse up the road from where we grew up. It is being renovated into the Jester Artspace for the community. Some may remember it from years ago with the Hypoint cows there on Grubb Road, not far from Concord High School. Way to go!
Oh my gosh! It looks amazing!!
