Pysanky The Art of Ukrainian Egg Decoration

detail-2

Choose date/time

Pysanky is the Ukrainian tradition that uses a wax resist method in combination with strong dyes to create stunning easter egg designs. The word pysanka comes from the verb pysaty, “to write”. In this three hour workshop you will learn how to use a heated stylus and bees wax to “write” or draw traditional or contemporary designs, and then apply layers of strong colored dyes to your eggs. Come join us so you can have the most beautiful eggs for your Easter celebration. We use raw eggs, white or brown. After dying, the eggs keep for a year and in many cases much longer! This class is for steady handed teens and adults.
