Landscape Painting from Photographs with Water Mixable Oil (added date)

Due to the snow cancellation of last Saturdays workshop session, an additional date has been added for next Saturday, February 24, from 13:30pm to 3:30pm.

Please note this is an afternoon time, in contrast to the original morning time.

Enjoy the luxury of painting in oil without the mess and fumes of toxic solvents! Water mixable oils are real oil paint in which the linseed oil has been altered to allow clean up with water!

If you’ve even been curious about what it’s like to paint with oils, this two-day workshop will be a fun introduction.

The workshop will include a demo painting by the instructor and individual instruction. Topics will include: choosing a landscape subject, creating a composition, taking yout own photographs, mixing a wide range of colors with a limited palette, brush handling, and creating textures for foliage, trees, grasses and other landscape painting subjects.

Water mixable oil paint will be provided for the workshop. You can try oil painting without making an investment in paint. Students who prefer, can bring their own water mixable or traditional oil paint. Here is a suggested list of other materials and a more detailed list with additional info.

Photographs will also be provided, but students are welcome to bring their own photo to work from.
